New Artists

Charlotte Terrell

Charlotte Terrell – After receiving her degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia in 1980, Charlotte Terrell began work as a landscape architect for New York City Parks involving the restoration of 19th-century areas of Central Park and other historic landscapes.

Karen Margolis

Karen Margolis – Karen Margolis’ intricate mixed-media work has been exhibited internationally from Los Angeles to the Netherlands. Inspired by maps and the significance of the journey, she uses burning techniques to create a sense of lightness amidst density.

Matthew Kirk

Matthew Kirk – Born in Arizona and raised in Wisconsin, Matthew Kirk now lives and works in Ridgewood, Queens, New York. Having developed his craft without formal training, Matthew creates his pieces using readily available supplies, often from the construction industry: sheet-rock and plywood are his base materials.

Paula Kovarik

Paula Kovarik – Paula Kovarik received her BA in graphic design from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. For over 25 years she was the creative director and owner of Shades of Gray, Inc., a graphic design studio.

In our boldest introduction yet, Area is bringing two new substrates to the market. Scrim, a self-adhesive window fabric, provides a gorgeous, translucent solution for defining a space. And Embossed, a digitally structured, tactile wallpaper, enhancing the lines, brushstrokes, and other elements in the artwork. It will add a whole new dimension to your walls.

Scrim

Scrim — a self-adhesive fabric that warmly dresses up your windows. allowing light to filter through while still providing privacy. Scrim is offered with a standard opacity level allowing light to filter through while still providing privacy. Our design team can work with you to customize the opacity level to meet your specific installation requirements.

Embossed

Embossed — A new luxury wallcovering that brings sophistication to our collection of substrates. Through innovative technology, we are able to print and emboss simultaneously, creating a colorful, soft, and textural feel.
